February 2015 is in the history books as the coldest on record. There is still 3 feet of snow on the patio, the temp is 9 degrees and Storm Gavin is bearing down on CT. But with March brings hope.
Patio DIY projects dominate my thoughts as the days grow longer: the DIY list is growing and my Pintrest pages are filling up with inspiration and ideas. Now that the Patio footprint has been laid out, I can focus on smaller, fun, more stylistic DIY projects.
Completing a few small projects last year boosted my DIY confidence. I can’t wait to get out there and get my hands dirty. My focus is mainly on the Patio but this house needs some serious curb appeal so I’ll be working out front too. I’m sure my neighbors will appreciate that. Wink, wink.
It’s an ambitious list for me but it will be interesting to look back in the Fall to see what I got done, changed or eliminated.
- Pathway leading from the front porch to back patio.
- Enlarge the Fire Pit.
- Paint Patio porch.
- Add Privacy screens to Patio.
- Wrought Iron Gazebo vs. Corner Pergola.
- Construct Patio ‘Bar’.
- More ‘No-Mow’ zone: Add shade garden around front entry.
- Build Dry River Bed for front yard drainage.
There’s no doubt in my mind this list will continue to grow; there are so many cool things that can be done with outdoor spaces but if I can get through even half of this list I will be a happy girl!
